Web Accessibility Policy
Hochschule Offenburg is committed to ensuring that its website and mobile applications comply with the provisions of the German Federal Disability Equality Act (BGG) and the Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance 2.0 (amended on 25 May 2019; BITV 2.0) to implement the Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and the Council of 17 April 2019 (European Accessibility Act). The requirements of accessibility result from Art. 3 para. 1 to 4 and Art. 4 of BITV 2.0, issued on the basis of Section 12d of BGG.
This accessibility statement applies to the webpages of Hochschule Offenburg (https://www.hs-offenburg.de etc.).
Status of compliance with the requirements
Hochschule Offenburg makes every effort to ensure that the font size, colors and contrasts are barrier-free and that the website is easy to use.
As a university, we maintain a highly extensive and diverse website with more than 10,000 pages and about 100 editors, which means that editorial oversights are not entirely avoidable. If you find a barrier, we appreciate your feedback.
A detailed BITV test is in preparation. Until the complete test results are available, a preliminary review is published here.
According to the current status of this review, the website of Hochschule Offenburg does not fully meet the accessibility requirements due to the points listed below. Some contents of the website are not barrier-free.
Not yet or only partially accessible content
The following content is not accessible for the following reasons:
- PDF, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents that can be downloaded from the website are not all currently available in accessible versions.
- For embedded video and audio files, audio descriptions, full text alternatives or subtitles are currently only available in exceptional cases.
- In some cases, no alternative texts are available for graphics, maps or images.
- In some cases, there may be errors in the page structure and heading hierarchy, or links may be incomprehensible.
- Descriptive elements are sometimes missing for control elements.
- Keyboard navigation is only partially possible.
- Forms are only partially accessible.
Please use the browser functions (for example for changing the font size) or reading software.
If you need assistance, please contact the persons named on the respective web pages.
We are working on the necessary processes to continuously improve Offenburg University's information with regard to digital accessibility. This includes the comprehensive redesigning of the website.
